CHART (1978-1990) was a non-profit organization which offered services to help women begin or change work, explore new options, and become self-sufficient. WEDCO (1983-1990) provided assistance to women in creating successful business enterprises.

The records document many of the specific programs developed by the two organizations but are dominated by administrative and public relations files. A video cassette and correspondence (1988) documents WEDCO's treatment in a "60 Minutes" segment on CBS television.
