Expand/CollapseSCOPE AND CONTENTS

A considerable portion of the collection contains form letters, announcements, and other items from individuals seeking DFL party offices, and documenting her own activities in fifth ward (Minneapolis), legislative district 39, senatorial district 54, and fifth congressional district DFL organizations, especially precinct caucuses and ward and district central committee work. Other files (1966-1986) illustrate Brady's interests in the liberal wing of the Democratic Party, in the feminist movement (DFL Feminist Caucus), and many local and national organizations opposed to the spread of nuclear weapons and nuclear power. There is also information on the Northside Settlement Services Redlining Task Force (1978-1981), which worked to combat the insurance company practice of denying property coverage within certain areas of the city.
