ANDERSON STORE (FRANCONIA, MINN.):

Anderson Store was founded by Jonas Lindahl, a member of the Minnesota Legislature who drowned in the St. Croix River in 1873. Lindahl's widow later married Charles Vitalis, who continued as the store's proprietor. August J. Anderson worked as a clerk for Vitalis until 1883, at which time he became a partner in the business. The enterprise was thereafter known by his name.
