| Before July 22, 1891, church affairs were handled by a Bishop's Committee consisting of Charles Edgar Haupt, Rector, and W. H. H. Mear, M. V. Kellogg, L. J. M. Holland, Frank Osborne, and George H. Lawes. The minutes of the June 30, 1891 meeting explain the reorganization of the church from a mission to a regular church with its own governing body, the vestry.
