The collection includes charter and background information (1974-1975); minutes (1974-1983); membership information (1974-1978, 1984, 1991-1992); financial data (1974-1976); correspondence (1974-1984); press releases (1974-1975); printed materials (1974-1987); newspaper clippings (1972-1977); and conference files (1974-1975) documenting the activities of a Twin Cities chapter of the Coalition of Labor Union Women. The chapter was organized in 1974, three months after the formation of the national coalition, to strengthen women's participation and leadership within labor unions, to encourage the organization of unorganized women workers, to promote affirmative action in the workplace, and to support feminist legislation.

Also included are correspondence, minutes, resolutions, and similar records detailing the chapter's participation in CLUW conferences and conventions (1974-1986), in workshops hosted by the Midwest School for Women Workers (1980, 1981), and on the Comparable Worth Task Force of the Minnesota Council on the Economic Status of Women (1981-1982). Other activities documented by the chapter's records include a "Jobs for All" rally held at the State Capitol (1975), a conference on gender divisions in labor (1983); and the Working Women's Awareness Week sponsored by CLUW (1986). Also included is information regarding affirmative action at the University of Minnesota (1972-1976).
