HISTORICAL NOTE
The Minnesota Wool Growers Association was incorporated in 1932 and was in existence until about 1993. The Association's purpose according to its articles of incorporation was to "promote, foster, and encourage the business of producing and marketing wool, to minimize speculation and waste in the production and marketing of wool and wool products, to stabilize wool markets, to handle cooperatively and collectively the problems of the wool growers."
SCOPE AND CONTENTS
The records of the Minnesota Wool Growers Association include Board of Directors minutes (1931-1992), Board of Directors and other annual meeting material (1978-1992), the articles of incorporation and bylaws, and the official contract between the Minnesota Wool Growers Association and the Co-operative Wool Growers of South Dakota (1938-1944).
Financial records include audit reports (1939-1991), tax returns (1989-1991), and tax exemption material (1941-1974). Miscellaneous financial records include correspondence regarding contributions to related organizations, donor request forms, invoices, and a certificate of savings from 1960. The certificate of savings includes a sample of the certificate of savings issued to members of the cooperative.
