Expand/CollapseHISTORICAL NOTE

The Guild of Catholic Women was organized by women in St. Luke's Parish, Saint Paul, in December 1906 and was incorporated in 1912. The Guild's objective was to organize city-wide Catholic women for philanthropic and social activities. The Guild opened the Catholic Guild Hall in 1912 as a home for young Catholic working women, that later became a home for the handicapped. The Guild also began the Mexican Mission on St. Paul's West Side in 1930, which was later known as the Mission of Our Lady of Guadalupe, and the Antone Hospital Guild in 1941, which provided financial support for Our Lady of Good Counsel Home, a free hospital for the care of those suffering from cancer.
