         <p>This organization was formed in 1945 as the St. Paul Bird Club to educate the public
            about ornithology and other wildlife, to collect data from amateur bird watchers, and to
            promote the conservation of wildlife resources. It changed its name to Saint Paul
            Audubon Society in 1948. The group was also affiliated with the Minnesota Ornithologists
            Union.</p>
