HISTORICAL NOTE
The Burlington Northern Clown Club and Band began as a community service under the former Great Northern Railway Company, probably as early as the 1950s. The band performed along the rail line at community festivals, charity events, and at children's hospitals, senior citizen residences, and schools for the underprivileged. It was especially active during the St. Paul Winter Carnival. George Donnay and Robert W. Achterling coordinated the activities of the band.
