SCOPE AND CONTENTS
Topics include depredations by Dakota and news of family and friends during the war, Company A's activities and encounters with the Dakota while stationed at St. Cloud and Manannah (Minn.), Cheetham's financial affairs, his concern over his wife's ill health, and possible arrangements for the care of his children if his wife should die. Some of the letters contain full or partial transcripts. A brief biographical sketch accompanies the typed transcriptions. A pencil sketch of the Chippewa Agency is also included.
