The Indian Music Society of Minnesota (IMSOM) was founded in 1980 and is dedicated to fostering an understanding of (Asian) Indian music. The Society presents music concerts, workshops, and lecture-demonstrations to the Twin Cities community.

Biographical Information: Jay Jayaraman became involved with the Indian Music Society of Minnesota in 1986 as a volunteer. He worked his way up to being president of the organization.

Biographical Information: Dr. Ameeta Kelekar is from Konkani Marathi, India. She received her Ph.D. in molecular biology from Princeton and is an Associate Professor for the University of Minnesota in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. She has been the President of Indian Music Society of Minnesota IMSOM from 2005 to the present (2011).

Biographical Information: Allalaghatta Pavan was born in Bangalore, India. He received his MBA from the University of Minnesota. Pavan was the President of the Indian Music Society of Minnesota for five years from 1997-2002. He is currently a Technology Manager for Platform Systems at Honeywell.
