Law Advocates of Hennepin County was organized in 1962 as Lawyers' Wives of Hennepin
County "to promote the aims of their husbands' chosen profession," to develop
law-related educational projects, and to provide social contact for the members.
About 1991, the name was changed to Lawyers, Advocates and Wives of Hennepin County
(frequently condensed to L.A.W. of Hennepin County) and, finally, to Law Advocates
of Hennepin County. Projects through the years have concerned Lino Lakes
Correctional Facility for juveniles, the guardian ad litem program, prevention of
child abuse, and fund raising for educational projects. The organization disbanded
around 2011.
