BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Diane Malankoff Fass was born February 16, 1941 in Miami, Florida. She graduated from Florida State University in April, 1963, with a bachelor's degree in biology. She married David N. Fass in December 1964, and moved to Rochester, Minnesota and became involved in the fledgling women's movement there in the early 1970s. She is said to have been the first volunteer lobbyist for women's rights in Minnesota. She founded her own business in Rochester, D.M.F. Fine Art, and mentored and represented women artists. She served as a vice president of the Twin Cities Chapter of the National Organization for Women, was active in the St. Paul League of Women Voters and the Minnesota Women's Political Caucus, and was appointed to the Women's Advisory Committee of the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.
