Howard Conn, 1950s Howard James Conn was born in Fresno, California June 19, 1911. He earned a bachelor's degree from Stanford University, did graduate work at Harvard Universitiy, and earned his Bachelor of Divinity dgree from Yale Divinity School (magna cum laude) in 1936. From 1944 to 1976 he was senior minister at Plymouth Congregational Church, Minneapolis, after having served as a minister at churches in Glenbrook, Connecticut (1936-1941) and Great Barrington, Massachusetts (1941-1944). Conn was president of the Minnesota Council of Churches (1952-1954), moderator of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches (1966-1967), and a member of the board of trustees of Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota (1948-1972). Conn died in Mminneapolis on March 27, 2000.
