BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE
Pat Benincasa, a sculptor with a strong interest in geometry expressed in glass sculptures, paintings, and drawings, was born December 10, 1950 in Pontiac, Michigan. She earned a BFA degree at Michigan State University, East Lansing, and MFA and MA degrees at Wayne State University, Detroit. In 1995 she was awarded a Percent for Art Commission in a national competition to create Falling Water Skylight, which was installed in the Minnesota Judicial Center building in Saint Paul. Other major works include the glass, steel and limestone sculpture Moon Boat & Night Sky Glass at the Ward Parkway Federal Building, Kansas City, Missouri, and the three-dimensional Redemption Window at the Hill-Murray Chapel, Maplewood, Minnesota. Benincasa makes her home in Saint Paul, and teaches at the College of Visual Arts in the city.
