The College of Visual Arts was established in 1948 when Lowell Bobleter acquired the
Mills College of Art and Advertising. Bobleter renamed the institution School of
Associated Arts. In 1989 the name was changed to College of Associated Arts, and in
1995 to College of Visual Arts. The school was located in the Ramsey Hill and Summit
Avenue neighborhoods of Saint Paul, and offered bachelor of fine arts degrees in
fine arts, graphic design, illustration, fashion design, and photography. The
college closed in 2013.
