HISTORICAL NOTE
Gospel Choirs United began in 1974 when Phyllis Williams of the Sabathani Baptist Church Pastor's Chorus and Sam Davis of the Zion Baptist Church Inspirational Choir joined in concert. Other choirs, representing primarily African-American congregations, joined in what became known as Gospel Choirs Unlimited. By 1981, the combined group was known as Gospel Choirs United and performed in numerous venues throughout Minneapolis and St. Paul. The choir continues its mission to spread the Gospel in Song.
