Expand/CollapseBIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Mark L. ArendMark L. Arend (1903-1984) was a founder, president, and chairman of the board of Rayette Inc., later known as Rayette-Faberge, Inc., and eventually as Faberge Incorporated. The firm was a Saint Paul-based manufacturer of beauty salon and barber shop supplies and equipment. The headquarters of the company eventually moved to New York City.

Michael W. Arend (1937-2011), a son of Mark L. Arend, was engaged in several business ventures of his own, including firms involved in real estate, the hospitality industry, and the sale of wild rice. His wife Harriet was a member of the Hoenck family.

Christopher Stahlmann (1829-1883), proprietor of the Chr. Stahlmann Brewing Co., established the Cave Brewery in Saint Paul in 1855. He also served as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives in 1871 and 1883, and as a Ramsey County Commissioner (1871). Following the death of Stahlmann and his three sons, the Brewery was sold to the Jacob Schmidt Company in 1900.
