HISTORICAL NOTE
Crippled Child Relief, Inc. was founded in December 1929 by Della H. Olsen. It was organized March 10, 1930, and incorporated in 1935. A voluntary association, originally only of women, the organization raised funds and awarded grants to individuals needing artificial limbs, medicines, braces, or other assistive devices. In 1967, a scholarship fund was established for students in the schools of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy at the University of Minnesota. In 1968 a student loan fund for the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Minnesota was established.
