In Fall 1979 the School of India for Languages and Culture (SILC) was organized after
its predecessor, the Bharat School (1978-1979) closed. SILC has been located at
various sites in Saint Paul, and since 1992 has held its classes at Como Park High
School. Teachers at SILC are volunteers from the Asian Indian community, and many
are parents of SILC students.
