Edward Sherman Crozier was born December 4, 1934 in Jasper, Minnesota. He attended South Dakota State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Management. Crozier worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for nearly 40 years as the Refuge Manager and Area Supervisor for refuges across the Midwest. Crozier cofounded the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge and acted as the first Refuge Manager. He also was a founder and former vice chairman of the National Wildlife Refuge Association, a founder and former president of the Friends of Minnesota Valley, a charter member and former president of the Minnesota Valley Trust Inc., a founder and board director of the Blue Good Alliance, and a former mentor to the Friends group. Crozier also published his memoir titled Dream Hunter, recounting his years spent as a wildlife refuge manager.
