Trip Shakespeare toured mainly in Minnesota, Illinois, and in other Midwestern states. Band members included Dan Wilson (guitar, piano, and vocals) and John Munson (bassist), who would later go on to be founding members of Semisonic, as well as Matt Wilson (guitar and vocals) and Elaine Harris (drums). Dave Ness managed the band for several years. Trip Shakespeare released five full-length albums and several singles but broke up after the release of their fourth album, Lulu in 1991.
