The American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Minnesota was founded in 1977 as the
Minnesota Graphic Designers Association (MGDA). In the mid 1980s, they became a
chapter of the larger American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). AIGA'S mission "is
to advance design as a professional craft, strategic tool, and vital cultural
force."
