Subject files, arranged alphabetically, which include Humphrey's certificate of election as mayor, advertising and publicity materials, newspapers and clippings, press releases, radio speeches and other speech materials, budget and expenditure records, data on volunteers, congratulatory letters to Humphrey, and his thank-you letters for support, cooperation, and work during his 1947 campaign for reelection as mayor of Minneapolis. Also included is a folder of correspondence and a talk given by Humphrey endorsing Robert I. Wishart as the candidate for Minneapolis 8th Ward alderman.

A set of subject files maintained by the Humphrey office, containing information on all aspects of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party during 1946-1948. They include correspondence, clippings, campaign literature, speeches, and files on issues, committees, conventions (state, county, and national), "Left Wing" groups, volunteers, and the Young DFL Club (state and national). Humphrey's stand on civil rights is documented in these files by correspondence, clippings, and a copy of the speech he delivered at the Democratic National Convention, July 14, 1948.

Humphrey was national vice chairman of the organization from 1947 to 1949, chairman from 1949 to 1950, then vice chairman again in 1950-1951.
