HUBERT H. HUMPHREY:

Carbon copies of outgoing letters, containing codes or annotations referring to the file location of related correspondence. They serve as a name index to the various correspondence files for this time period. Included is a subset of 1964 “Political” files, relating at least tangentially to the 1964 Presidential/Vice Presidential campaign.

Note to the user: Several Federal Records Center request slips found among the files denote items or folders that were recalled by the Humphrey office while the files were in storage and apparently never returned. Folders known to be missing are noted in the Detailed Description section.
