Expand/CollapseHISTORICAL NOTE

A St. Paul Suffrage Club was in existence as early as 1901. In 1904 the Mother's Club of the St. Paul Neighborhood House decided to join the suffrage movement and changed its name to the St. Paul Sacajawea Club. In 1907 it merged with the St. Paul Suffrage Club and, in 1911, changed its name to the St. Paul Political Equality Club. It was affiliated with the Minnesota Woman Suffrage Association (See: Minutes, Jan. 29, 1914).
