DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Expand/CollapseNATURALIZATION RECORDS INDEX (MICROFILM SAM 167-I)

LocationReel
SAM 167-I1 1846-1929.
There are three indexes, each covering a portion of the naturalization records. The names in each index are grouped alphabetically by the first letter of the applicant's surname, and within each group are listed in the order in which the naturalization documents were recorded.
Personal name indexes to declarations of intention (first papers), 1846-1929; final papers (second papers), 1871-1905; and petition and record (final papers), 1907-1929. Each entry for loose declarations of intention gives the applicant's name, the number assigned to the declaration, and its date. Each entry for the remaining records gives the applicant's name and the volume and page containing the document.
