SCOPE AND CONTENTS
Two alphabetical sets of legal files. The first set (circa 1976-1993) concerning alleged violations of the state's ethical practices law and containing correspondence, memoranda, legal documents, and related papers, the majority document cases involving fair campaign practice regulations. Apparently most of the cases went to court. The second set (1990s-2003) concerning lawsuits between political candidates and others, and the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board (CFB) and its predecessor, the Ethical Practices Board (EPB). Arranged in alphabetical order by defendant's name. Also includes a set of advisory opinions (1974-2013) issued by the board on the requirements of the Ethics in Government Act [Minn. Stat. c10A] and the Hennepin County Disclosure Law [Minn. Stat. 383B.041-383B.058]. Along with a partial index (1974-1993), each folder also includes a detailed listing of the subject of each opinion.
Many of the files and opinions were created under the board's predecessors, the Ethics Commission (1974-1975) and Ethical Practices Board (1975-1997).
