OVERVIEW


	Creator:	Minnesota. District Court (Rice County).
	Title:	Case files and miscellaneous court papers.
	Dates:	1856-circa 1896.
	Language:	Materials in English.
	Abstract:	Early civil and criminal case files and miscellaneous papers that were renumbered and indexed at a time later than their creation, possibly following a 1931 courthouse fire. During that renumbering, various non-case file materials were assigned case file numbers. The records included in this set constitute the portion of those files that were deemed archival in nature.
	Quantity:	19.1 cubic feet (19 boxes; 2 folders in reserve).

SCOPE AND CONTENTS

While appearing to be one continuous numbering system there are large gaps present. The date period also overlaps separately cataloged sets of civil and criminal case files.
