Expand/CollapseSCOPE AND CONTENTS

John Olson's trading post in Winona, 1905The majority of these photographs document either the activities of the Forestry Division (especially in the maintenance of parks), or the features of specific locations, including both natural features such as bodies of water, tree types and damage to native flora, and man-made constructions, such as bridges, buildings and other park facilities. Images depicting fire damage, fighting, and prevention are included as well. Civilian Conservation Camps are often pictured (e.g., F-14, S143, and many more F and S camps). Some negatives and lantern slides are present, as are several photo albums. Many of the albums were created by Anson E. Pimley and depict nature scences, wildlife, and logging camps in Northern Minnesota.

Photographers include W.H. Wettschreck, Kenneth Wright Studios, Dana Worrall, Jerry Person, H. Zaboon, W.E. Christnagel, and George Gaylord.
