SCOPE AND CONTENTS
Included are general records of farm expenditures and receipts (1950-1969), records of labor and repairs (1950-1969) and products (1955-1969) supplied to the institution by the farm, livestock records (1931-1969), slaughterhouse records (1902-1969), and herd register (1905-1936).
The livestock records include monthly reports on the numbers of cattle, horses, and pigs kept at the farm (1950-1969), a dairy cow record book, with milk production and breeding information (1931-1936), a cattle record (1933-1936), and feed and silage and swine feed records (1951-1969).
The slaughterhouse records detail the number of animals slaughtered, total weight, pounds of meat in various categories, shrinkage and related data (1902-1943, 1950-1969).
There is also a small set of newsletters (1951-1969) written by Ray Burkholder, the Division of Public Institutions' Institution Farms Supervisor, containing information on the state's farms, including the one in Fergus.
