| The Final Papers and the Petition and Records are indexed separately. The cards in each index are arranged in alphabetical order by surname and given name. The Final Papers are indexed by volume and page number. The Petitions are indexed by petition number. The cards also included the date of naturalization or the number and date of the certificate of naturalization, which serve as supplemental indexing aids. | |||||||||||||
| The cards in each index were not checked for completeness or correct alphabetical order prior to microfilming.
