ST. CLOUD STATE REFORMATORY:

The Willow River Camp was operated by the Corrections Department, with inmates performing a variety of improvement and maintenance tasks on state lands and recreational facilities under the aegis of the Conservation Department. After termination of the YCC, their files were returned to the reformatory and retained as a separate unit. The YCC file number is noted on each Willow River file, although there is no access by file number. A partial index is located in the St. Cloud State Reformatory: Indexes to inmate records, 1889-1979 (separately cataloged).

The files in boxes 35-43 (dated circa 1962-1972) are believed by reformatory staff to be part of the main set of Willow River Camp files; the circumstances of their separation are unknown. Many of them do not appear in the St. Cloud Reformatory inmate index.
