SCOPE AND CONTENTS
There are also materials documenting a Youth Service Corps Volunteers program sponsored through the American Lutheran and Catholic churches (1980-1982) and a 1982 protest by Chaplain Reverend R. E. Mader against a WTCN television investigative news program concentrating on treatment in the state's state hospital system.

| Documents a program in which the American Lutheran Church and the Archdiocese of St. Paul supported Youth Service Corps for high school young people on the Faribault campus during the summer vacation. Faribault supplied room, board, and non-paying summer positions as Teacher Aides in the Hospital Educational Program. College graduates or college students served a counselors and supervised the youth. The Catholic Corps served in three week periods; the Lutheran Corps for the entire summer. | |||||||||||

| Complaint by Reverend R. E. Mader, Faribault chaplain, to the Federal Communications Commission [FCC] concerning a February 8-11, 1983 WTCN Television investigative news program entitled Mind Over Money. He describes the show as a poorly documented attack on State Hospitals in Minnesota. Included are Mader’s letter, a transcript of the program, the FCC’s reply, and assorted clippings and reports about the program. | |||||||||||
