As most hospitals and health care organizations in the state operate as charitable institutions, the office when necessary conducts reviews of those organizations to ensure they operate in a manner compliant with their charitable, tax-exempt status, mission, and duties. Documenting compliance reviews of Health Partners, Inc., Fairview Health Services, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, these records include reports written by the Attorney General's office, accompanied by supporting records. Although the reviews were done between 2003 and 2002, the supporting material may date as far back as 1987.
