Largely correspondence regarding receipt and distribution of relief funds and supplies for sufferers of forest fires in the vicinity of Baudette and Spooner in Lake of the Woods County. Also present are minutes of the organizing meeting of the Northern Minnesota Red Cross Relief Committee, which coordinated relief work (October 24, 1910), a letter regarding an outbreak of typhoid in Bemidji, and a printed report by C. C. Andrews, Minnesota forestry commissioner, on the 1910 forest fires.

Forest Fires Relief Commission, 1918, 1921. 3 folders.
The 1918 files comprise photographs of burned-over lands and homes in several areas north and west of Duluth; a small map showing the burned-over areas; bulletins of the Minnesota Forest Fires Relief Commission; summary financial statements and statements of losses; plans, specifications, and supply lists for rebuilding standard houses and barns; a resolution of thanks from the city of Cloquet; and a letter regarding fire management by state forester W. T. Cox. Also present are the commission's 1921 final report, and an audit report by the Public Examiner (1921).
Laws 1919 c37 (superceding Laws 1919 c12) formalized the governor's establishment of the relief commission, appropriated $1.8 million for relief, established operating procedures, and required a report to the 1921 Legislature. Laws 1919 c4 legalized all prior appropriations of public funds by local governments for fire relief contributions.
