Expand/CollapseSCOPE AND CONTENTS

A site in Shakopee was chosen from among five proposed sites in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area (the others were in Blaine, Eagan, Savage, and Woodbury). The name Canterbury Downs was chosen in the fall of 1984. The 1987 applications did not result in selection of a second racetrack.
