Expand/CollapseSCOPE AND CONTENTS

The majority of the records pertain to the selection of members, length of terms, and vacancies. Included are letters of appointment, correspondence regarding board disbandment, member references, lists of officers, and interview notes. All but fifteen of the boards had disbanded by 1998. Also includes files on county lay board members and the Human Services Board.

In 2014 the state law (Minnesota Statutes 393) was changed regarding county appointment requirements for local county social services agencies. Under the law counties were no longer required to submit resident board member nominations to the Commissioner of Human Services.
