Organized in 1884. Originally Lac qui Parle County Independent School District No. 74; became Independent School District No. 377, Madison, in 1957; consolidated with Independent School District No. 784, Appleton; Independent School District No. 378, Marietta, Nassau; and Independent School District No. 128, Milan, in 1989. In 1993 Independent School District No. 377, Madison, and Independent School District No. 378, Marietta, Nassau, consolidated, becoming Independent School District No. 2153, Madison, Marietta, Nassau.
