118.C.17.7B-1Appraisement Record, 1863-1891 (bulk 1863-1886).
Indexed. Filled-in forms, in three parts: (a) itemizing each parcel of real estate and its value; (b) itemizing chattel (i.e., personal) property and its value, including household goods and furnishings, linens, major items of clothing, livestock, farm equipment and vehicles, grain in storage, and the like; and (c) itemizing [promissory] notes and accounts. Each inventory is prefaced by a warrant to appraisers. Most are for 1863-1886; there is one each for 1890 and 1891.

A roughly chronological volume of handwritten transcriptions of court orders and documents concerning the inventorying and appraisement of estates. They include orders appointing appraisers; orders appointing commissioners to examine and adjust claims against the estate; appraisers' and commissioners' oaths; administrators' reports of estate values, settlement costs, cash available for distribution, and receipts and disbursements on account of the estate; estate inventories, itemizing real and personal property and the value of each; and related documents.

Indexed. Similar to Journal A, but with greater emphasis on the financial transactions involved in settling estates, and including guardianship appointments and accounts. The index is in a separate folder.
