FARIBAULT COUNTY: WELFARE BOARD:

In 1976 the individual welfare boards of Faribault, Martin, and Watonwan counties signed a joint powers agreement forming the Faribault, Martin, and Watonwan Human Service Board. The post-1976 cases cover only the Faribault County portion of the Faribault, Martin, and Watonwan Human Service Board operation, however.

Sample case files of the Welfare Board that were retained after being selected by the staff of the board because of their uniqueness, interesting case information, or significant program or situation. This sampling was not done according to any statistical method. The files include cases related to community health nursing, aid to families with dependent children, food stamps, medical assistance, general assistance, chemical dependency services, income maintenance, old age assistance, and foster care. They are grouped according to year of closure of the file, and filed alphabetically thereunder. Cases were closed between 1969-1983, although documents within the cases may be as early as the 1940s.
