HISTORICAL NOTE
The St. Louis County Board of Poor Commissioners was established under Chapter 242, Laws of Minnesota, approved April 11, 1901. On July 1, 1937, the Board of Poor Commissioners became the St. Louis County Welfare Board. In 1980 it became the St. Louis County Community Social Service Board.
