| Dates: | 1933-1978. |
| Language: | Materials in English. |
| Abstract: | Department files acquired through George Holey of the Air Museum of Minnesota, who was an Aeronautics Department

The subject files encompass a wide variety of aviation issues from legislation to airport and runway lighting, from parachuting and skydiving clubs to airplane repair and dealerships.
There are files of correspondence with Minnesota governors, aviation special interest magazines, aircraft manufacturers, and other commercial operations. There are also files on inspections, licensing, permits, regulations, special events, conferences, the media, civil defense, crop spraying, wilderness area airspace, air search and rescue efforts, and seaplane operations across the United States-Canadian border; clippings scrapbooks; posters covering air safety; photographs and motion picture film concerning crop spraying; and commissioner's speeches, particularly L. L. Schroeder.
A substantial number of files were generated by the Civil Aeronautics Administration, the Federal Aviation Agency, the state Department of Administration, and special interest groups such as the National Aeronautics Association, the Minnesota Aviation Trades Association, and the National Aviation Clinic.
