The correspondence files (1944-1959) are primarily with the federal Veterans Administration and other entities concerning veterans' education under Public Law 346 and the Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1950. There is also correspondence on general subjects such as licensing, curricula and standards for flying schools, schools approved for G.I. training, general commercial operator instructions, and the effect of crop spraying on mink ranches and turkey farms.

There are also files on the promotion of aviation education and the federal Civilian Pilot Training courses; a 1963 flight seminar for youth at Kitty Hawk; and a Mankato State Teachers College aviation education workshop (1955-1957).

The standards and regulations files are organized by year, as are the correspondence files. The flying schools files are arranged in alphabetical order by the name of the school.
