The files focus in particular on administrative and policy matters, forestation and forest management work, forest fire prevention and control, land exchange and leases, cooperative forestry and other forest promotion and development programs, game and habitat management, and relations with other state, federal, and local agencies. A number of the files focus on the Chippewa National Forest; there are also some files on a long-running Itasca State Park vegetation management project.
