Expand/CollapseSCOPE AND CONTENTS

The designs were submitted for two contests, one for new construction (1978) and one for redesign of existing homes (1979), sponsored by the Energy Agency with a legislative appropriation. Entries in both competitions were judged, and cash prizes awarded for design innovation. The designs in this series comprise the finalists in the 1978 contest and all entrants in the 1979 contest. Some of the winning designs were funded for construction, some plans were implemented, and others were featured in publications.
