HISTORICAL NOTE
The Board of Physical Therapy is an agency of the State of Minnesota. The Governor appoints the eleven member board which is comprised of five physical therapists, two physical therapist assistants, one medical doctor, and three public members. Since the 1950s the Medical Examiners Board (now known at the Medical Practice Board) regulated and licensed physical therapists. In 1999 the Physical Therapy Board was established by legislation, and regulates and licenses physical therapists.
