			This case revolved around the navigability of certain waters on and near O’Brien Lake and Creek, the effects of the dumping of iron ore tailings into the lake, and the effects that these tailings had on navigability. These claims were based in part on logging routes and practices, so there is information on that aspect of land use as well.

				The exhibits include photocopies of surveyor’s field notes (dating back to at least 1867), maps, and photographs of the site. Also included is a 1955 Minnesota Department of Health investigation on pollution and health matters in the Swan Lake watershed. This report also includes photographs.

			The land involved was the SE¼ of the NE¼ of section 2, township 55 north, range 25 west. This case was appealed to the state Supreme Court, where it was assigned case number 35767. The exhibits include maps, surveyor’s field notebooks, photographs, and photocopies of survey documents, dating back to at least 1905. These documents include information on a larger area than that specifically involved in the case.
