Specific topics covered include movie bookings, maintenance of the registered Holstein-Friesian cattle herd, Indians, radio, reformatory camp, Indian out-patient clinic, building construction, and World War II rationing. The correspondents include architect Clarence H. Johnston and various representatives of the State Library, State Board of Control, departments of public institutions, public welfare, and administration, and division of social welfare.

Also included are a responsibility organization chart for the steward's office (1928) and a chart of the population of various state institutions, including the sanatorium, for 1860, 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920, 1930, 1935, and 1940.
