HISTORICAL NOTE
On November 6, 1990, the voters of Ramsey County adopted the first county charter ever drafted in the history of the State of Minnesota. The seventeen member Ramsey County Charter Commission (1987-1992) served as the body to examine the concept of home rule, draft the home rule charter, and see it through the general election (1900) and two year enactment period (ending November 6, 1992).
SCOPE AND CONTENTS
The records also include a videotape (1990); the first half containing a slide tape show regarding the home rule charter, the second half being a public informational meeting concerning the charter conducted by the Ramsey County League of Women Voters.
